  • Notable structures discovered through excavations include public roads, wells, warehouses, an altar, and baths.

  • As a city-state, it minted its own coins and provided military support during conflicts.

  • During a war led by the Macedonian king Perseus against the Romans, Falasarna contributed thousands of mercenaries (according to Livy).

  • Ancient historians and geographers like Scylax, Strabo, Polybius, and Pliny mentioned Falasarna, highlighting its importance.

  • Perched on a cape rising 90 meters above the harbor, the acropolis held various remnants.

  • Among these were a temple dedicated to the goddess Dictynna, fortification towers, cisterns, wells, and watchtowers guarding sea routes.
